2022 sure was a year for some great books, but if I am honest, it was pretty easy to narrow down this list because these books truly stood out for many reasons. Usually, when I consider a book to be a favourite, I enjoy the character development, the writing, and it is a book that I struggled to put down and wanted to cancel all plans to read. So if you are looking for some books to add to next year’s TBR, then this is the list for you:
Every Summer After by Carley Fortune
Matrix by Lauren Groff
Daughters of the Deer by Danielle Daniels
The Many Daughters of Afong Moy by Jamie Ford
Party of Two by Jasmine Guillory
The Friend Zone by Abby Jiminez
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
Bluebird by Genevieve Graham
House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas
Kiss Her Once for Me by Alison Cochrun
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir
What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
The Last Hours in Paris by Ruth Druart
Cultish by Amanda Montell
Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain
We Were Dreamers by Simu Liu
Unprotected by Billy Porter
Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds

And, for my top two books of 2022, Matrix and Daughters of the Dear were definite favourites!
