Synopsis (Goodreads):
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before meets Save the Date in this sweet and hijinks-filled rom-com about a teen girl who will do whatever it takes to find a date for her sister’s wedding.
Mia’s friends love rom-coms. Mia hates them. They’re silly, contrived, and not at all realistic. Besides, there are more important things to worry about—like how to handle living with her bridezilla sister, Sam, who’s never appreciated Mia, and surviving junior year juggling every school club offered and acing all of her classes.
So when Mia is tasked with finding a date to her sister’s wedding, her options are practically nonexistent.
Mia’s friends, however, have an idea. It’s a little crazy, a little out there, and a lot inspired by the movies they love that Mia begrudgingly watches too.
Mia just needs a meet-cute.
My Review:
Thank you Simon and Schuster Canada for the copy of this book.

This was a really cute story of a young teen who tries to create a “meet-cute” in order to find a date for her sisters wedding. I loved the concept and the premise of the book, and the characters were fun. Mia is 16 and I liked how witty she was. It was her friends idea to stage “meet-cutes” and she thinks the romantic comedy movies they watch are silly, so she is not really on board. But through the process she learns a bit about herself and what kind of relationship she is looking for.

The reason this was not five stars is because I thought Mia was a bit selfish when it came to her older sister, but I also thought that some of the decisions were a bit silly. I get that Mia being told to find a date to the wedding starts the whole plot, but I also thought it was a bit strange to require that of a 16 year old. But I am probably biased because I am the older sister planning the wedding, and I do not want random people in my wedding photos just for the sake of numbers and balancing. But that is just me.
