I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun piece of historical fiction that had some mystery, great character development and a flair of romance! I didn’t really know what to expect from this book but I turned out loving it!

The book centres around Eve Forrester, who finds out she has come into an Inheritance in the French Riviera, from a man she has never even heard of. It’s 1948 and she feels like she’s trapped in this loveless marriage, so she goes to the south of France for some adventure to spice up her life. She thinks that if she can find out what she meant to the recently deceased man, she can figure out who she really is and what she’s meant to be!

I really liked the characters in this book! Eve is super sweet and truly wanting to figure out what she wants in life. Sully is an American writer living in France while writing a book, and he’s a funny and weirdly charming character! The Lester family is kinda insufferable, and Eve’s husband, Clifford, is the WORST! He treats her like crap, and I understand that it was the norm for the man to be the “head of the family and make all the decisions” but it still makes me feel yucky when reading how women were treated, and I totally get that the author meant to make him seem awful, which she did a great job of! The whole time I’m like wow Eve leave that guy, he sucks! Ok rant done 😂 really like how the mystery unfolded and I thought there were some fun twists and turns!
Happy reading!
