April was a great month for listening to audiobooks! I listened to some old favourites, and discovered some new ones! Here are my mini reviews:
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone: obviously I love this book, and listening to it on audio was such a treat! Loved the narrator!
–
Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham: aka Lorelei Gilmore! So Lauren and Lorelei are the same person and I loved listening to Lauren describe what it was like to play such a memorable character, and some other things that are normally part of a celeb memoir! Absolutely delightful!
–
All the Missing Girls: this one was s mystery where a woman goes back to her home town where her best friend goes missing, and then another woman goes missing! The reason I didn’t love this one was because it went back from day 12 (I think) to day 1 when the girl went missing! It felt weird to go backwards!
–
Winter in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand: this one I actually really liked more than I was expecting! A woman goes to the Caribbean when she hears her husband has died, and finds out he was living a whole different life! The story was mysterious and fun and I really enjoyed!
–
In the Heart of the Sea: this book is a nonfiction description of the whale boat Essex which story became the inspiration for Herman Melville to write Mobey Dick! Really interesting to learn about the men’s trials and tribulations from the experience!
–
The Wife Between Us: a mystery novel where a woman is trying to stop her husband from marrying another woman! This book had so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming! Which was cool!
Happy Reading!
