But in her quest to end corruption and restore justice, she has made many enemies – chief among them the evil and feared Red Queen, who ordered the armies of Mortmesne to march against the Tear and crush them.

To protect her people from such a devastating invasion, Kelsea did the unthinkable – naming the Mace, the trusted head of her personal guards, Regent in her place, she surrendered herself and her magical sapphires to her enemy. But the Mace will not rest until he and his men rescue their sovereign from her prison in Mortmesne.

So, the endgame has begun and the fate of Queen Kelsea – and the Tearling itself – will be revealed…

With The Fate of the Tearling, Erika Johansen draws her unforgettable story full of magic and adventure to a thrilling close.

Review:

Well I have finally finished the series and I have so many thoughts but I’m not sure how to properly form them without spoiling things! So I’m going to try my best!

I really liked the overall development of this series. I feel like the characters developed well and the story kept me hooked enough to want to keep reading! Kelsea is working so hard to try and stabilize her kingdom, and she is trying to figure out what went wrong in the past so as to try and fix the future of her kingdom!

I did not like the ending of this book. I without spoiling anything, I just felt like it was an easy way out, and I would have liked to see the story develop a bit more before it ended!! But that’s just my opinion, and the writing is actually pretty great so I’m not critiquing the writing of the author, I just didn’t feel satisfied by the end!

Happy reading!
