Review:
The Heir by Kiera Cass was a book I was a bit hesitant to get into. I enjoyed the Selection Series, even though it was a bit too dramatic and like the Bachelor for me. This book is about America’s daughter, and how it is now time for her own selection!
The characters were introduced well in this book. With so many characters it’s easy to lose track of them, but the author is able to bring them to life in interesting ways! The main character, Eadlyn, is a bit bratty and self-centred, which she learns as she goes through the selection process. She wants to be a good queen, but she also is very wrapped up in her own life and her needs. She doesn’t understand how her people cannot fully adore her! Even though she annoyed me, I still felt empathy for her, as she is trying to be strong and assert her dominance in the first ever female led selection!
I also like that they threw in the childhood friend into the selection, because I think there is nothing cuter than childhood friends falling in love! So that’s who I’m rooting for!!
Onto the next book!
Happy reading!
