Review:

This book was creepy and spooky! It’s about a young governess who is in charge of two beautiful children and she starts to do whatever it takes to protect them. She starts to believe that the children are in danger and that there are things that want to hurt them.

The intro in this book was actually really good and it made me question whether or not the kids were actually in danger or if it was all in her head. It was tough to know because it seems like she got the housekeeper involved in the madness, but then I questioned if she actually got the housekeeper involved or if that was in her head to? It was a real thinker!

The narrator of the story was also kinda weird….it started out by this guy telling the story and then switches to first person with the governess….and then it ends….like where did the original narrator go? Where did the group listening to the story go? What happened to the governess! I had a lot of questions at the end that are left unanswered!! Anyways I enjoyed it overall and always look forward to reading more Henry James! I have read A Portrait of a Lady but now I need to read the Ambassadors I think!

Happy reading!
