Synopsis (Goodreads):
Sage Czinski is trying really hard to be perfect. If she manages it, people won’t peer beyond the surface, or ask hard questions about her past. She’s learned to substitute causes for relationships, and it’s working just fine… until Shane Cavendish strolls into her math class. He’s a little antisocial, a lot beautiful, and everything she never knew she always wanted.
Shane Cavendish just wants to be left alone to play guitar and work on his music. He’s got heartbreak and loneliness in his rearview mirror, and this new school represents his last chance. He doesn’t expect to be happy; he only wants to graduate and move on. He never counted on a girl like Sage.
But love doesn’t mend all broken things, and sometimes life has to fall apart before it can be put back together again…
Review:
Alright so sometimes, when you have been reading a lot of amazing, thought provoking books, you just need to relax with a romance novel that is going to make you all giggly and silly and gush about feelings. And that is exactly how I felt reading this book!
The novel focuses on the two main characters: Sage and Shane. Both have a dark past, and when Shane moves into town, there is no denying they share a strong connection. Not only are they attracted to one another, but they feel like they can truly be themselves around one another, and that is something that’s super important!
The writing was amazing in the sense that she knew exactly how to evoke emotion out of the reader! I thought Sage and Shane were both adorable as they tried to figure out their feelings for one another.
Now don’t get me wrong, this is a RomCom if I’ve ever read one. So if that is not your jam and you don’t like reading young adult romance novel/coming of age stories, then this maybe is not for you. But for me, this is exactly what I needed!
Happy reading!
