Transferring before middle school after his parents’ nasty divorce, Michael always felt he was at his happiest back in his Oklahoma hometown. Inviting his lifelong crush Catherine, among other former classmates, to a spring break reunion party seems like the perfect plan for Michael to get closure on the formative years of his life.

Yet nothing is as he remembers when Michael finds himself entangled in his own confusion between reality and nightmare. Suddenly, secrets from his childhood resurface, and the fanatic ringleader from Michael’s past will do whatever it takes to silence his friends. Now it’s up to Michael to save them all before it’s too late. But does he have the courage and strength to go up against his own worst enemy?

Review:

Thank you very much to the author for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a psychological thriller, and I don’t read a lot of books in this genre, but I really enjoyed it and will probably read more in this genre.

Michael is a senior living in Alabama, but is feeling very nostalgic about his elementary school friends in Oklahoma. He decides to go back and see his friends, but what he finds is not at all what he expects. There’s something that happened back in elementary school, and Michael needs to try and remember so he can move on with his future.

One thing this book deals with is LGBTQ rights and misconceptions, which was nice to see in a book. We don’t read about a lot of diversity in books, and this book has not only LGBTQ, but also people of different races. It also talks about therians, which are people that feel like they have a connection to animals.

This book was very interesting and I’d definitely recommend if you are into this genre!

Warning: there is mature content, including violence and sexual content. So this may not be for younger readers.

Happy reading!
