Review:
Here’s my second Sherlock Holmes book; really a collection of stories. I kinda liked this one a bit better than the Hound of Baskervilles because it didn’t feel drawn out. The stories were quick and to the point, with enough suspense and drama to keep you hooked! The stories were also varied on the problems that Sherlock and Watson needed solved, and we got to meet a lot of fun characters through the stories.
Sherlock is such a funny character and his relationship with Watson is cute! They play off each other well, and they understand each other so well! You can tell that Watson admires Sherlock, and Holmes respects what Watson thinks! They have both excellent minds! You also get to meet Sherlock’s brother! I didn’t know that Sherlock had a brother-yes I know what you are thinking. “Haven’t you seen the movies??”
No, I have not seen the movies but now I am going to definitely have to see them!
Sherlock’s brother was so funny! He is described as being smarter and quicker than Sherlock, yet lacking the motivation to actually take on a similar job that Sherlock does. I am not sure if this is the author’s way of making Sherlock seem even more the hero, but it definitely made me warm up a bit to the Holmes family.
If you’re looking for classic mystery stories, then I definitely recommend this book!
Happy reading!
