What? A princess??

Me??? Yeah, right.

Mia Thermopolis is pretty sure there’s nothing worse than being a five-foot-nine, flat-chested freshman, who also happens to be flunking Algebra.

Is she ever in for a surprise.

First Mom announces that she’s dating Mia’s Algebra teacher. Then Dad has to go and reveal that he is the crown prince of Genovia. And guess who still doesn’t have a date for the Cultural Diversity Dance?

Review:

So I love this movie! It reminds me of my childhood and how adorable Anne Hathaway was as Mia. I wish I read these books when I was in high school or junior high, because I think I would appreciate them much more. I sped through this quick paced book, finishing it in a couple hours. And while it was cute, and exciting to see some of the differences between the book and movie, it was almost too simple of a read for me. And that is basically because I didn’t read these as a kid. My thirteen year old self would have ate these up! One thing I liked was how she lived in New York and not San Francisco, and her dad played a large role in the book too!

So I would definitely recommend this to a younger audience. I might try and read the other books in the series, out of curiosity, but they won’t be high on my reading list.

Happy reading bookworms!
