With her now-classic novel Outlander, Diana Gabaldon introduced two unforgettable characters—Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser—delighting readers with a story of adventure and love that spanned two centuries. DRAGONFLY IN AMBER
For nearly twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland’s majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones… about a love that transcends the boundaries of time… and about Jamie Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his.
Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire’s spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart… in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising… and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves.
Review:
I’ve finished Dragonfly in Amber and I absolutely loved it! I loved getting back into the world of Jamie and Claire!! They are so cute together 😍😍
The story picks up right where it left off….except now the main characters are in France! I love how these stories not only transport the reader to another century, but they teach the reader about the past! We learn about what society was like from different social classes, and I love how it brings 1940s medical treatment to the 1740s! I not only learned about the past, but about medicine as well!
And Jamie is just so amazing 😍😍 he’s such a strong and caring character, who does everything he can for his family!
Claire can sometimes be a bit annoying, but I enjoy how headstrong she is, and she brings a bit of bluntness to the 18th century! She is a strong woman and I can’t wait to see what happens next in her sorry!
This book ended in a big cliffhanger, so I’ve ordered the next book online (because Chapters was out) so hopefully I can continue this story soon
Happy reading bookworms!
