Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mar her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana.

Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Together with the cyborg mechanic, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that’s been raging for far too long.

Can Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter defeat Levana and find their happily ever afters? Fans will not want to miss this thrilling conclusion to Marissa Meyer’s national bestselling Lunar Chronicles series.

Review:

What an amazing conclusion to an amazing series. As I have said in previous reviews for other books in the series, I love the futuristic take on the classic fairy tales. Winter takes after Snow White, and while she does have some similarities to the classic princess, Winter has her own qualities that distinguish her; for example, having the Lunar sickness, and making her a bit crazy (sometimes a lot crazy). But that was ok, because we as readers love Winter.

The novel developed well. I was hooked through the whole book, and it was not as predictable as the first book. Meyers writing definitely improved with each book, so reading this book was a real treat. I loved catching up with old characters, and meeting new ones. I was constantly trying to pick out where the story matches the fairy tale, and surprisingly amused when it went its own path as well.

My favourite character would have to be Cress. She is a character that I believe went through the most development, and she was able to overcome many fears and be heroic. Her connection to Thorne is adorable, to say the least, and I highly enjoyed reading the chemistry between the two. Cress really grew into her own self, and was the character that surprised me the most.

I cannot wait to read Fairest and Stars Above, which I just received in the mail today.

Send me an email if you want to discuss the series further, as I do not want to post any spoilers. If you have not read this series yet, you must!

Happy Reading!
